TONYMOLY Wonder Honey Moisture Cream

by - 3/03/2016

I have dry skin. Really dry skin. My legs get itchy, my hands are constantly dry. I have no idea why, but anyway, I moisturize every night before bed, and I moisturize my hands throughout the day. I have many body creams from Bath and Body Works, and while they smell fabulous, I find that the moisture doesn't carry over to the next day. I wanted something that was going to last, so I didn't have to keep applying lotion.

I saw the TonyMoly Wonder Honey Moisture Cream on Jolse.com and figured I would give it a try. I looked at the review on their official blog, and took into consideration what it said: good moisture, but slightly sticky, but the stickiness went away. I decided to give it a try. It was on sale when I got it, so I ended up paying $12.00. Normally, it's around $15.00. Still not a bad price, considering I pay $13.00 for a bottle of body cream from Bath and Body Works.

Here's what is said about the product:

"This is a deep moisturizing cream with cherry blossoms and nourishing ingredients to replenish moisture and leave skin relaxed. Double functional of creamy moisturizer for night and honey sleeping pack for night. All-in-one multi-cream for face and body."

Of course the most important ingredient in this product is the honey itself, which comes from "Prunus Serrulata," or cherry blossoms. The moisturizer also contains royal jelly extract, baobab seed extract, cocoa seed extract, and flax seed oil. Honey itself has many healing properties. I thought the addition of baobab was interesting, as it's not something that I commonly see in products. After doing a little research, I found that it contains a lot of vitamin C which supports collagen formation and has tons of antioxidants that help repair damage.

First thing I noticed was the size of the container. It was 320 ml, which is a lot of product. Here it is in my hand for scale:

There are directions in Korean, as well as English.

When I opened the product, I was surprised to see that it didn't look like a conventional moisturizer. It really did look like honey. It looked viscous, a little transparent, and kind of like jelly. It also jiggles like jelly, and when you tilt the bottle, it flows slowly.

It smelled just like honey. The smell is very mild, and is really nice. I opted to put it on my legs before bed, which is my usual routine. When I scooped up some of the product, it didn't cling to my finger like a thicker lotion does. Again, it was a lot like honey. It kind of dripped a bit off of my finger. I realized quickly that I didn't need a lot of product, and it went on very smooth.

I found that when it was on my legs, it gave it a nice, healthy glow, which I hope you can see in the picture below.

The first thing I noticed after putting on this product was that it was sticky. Really sticky. It felt sticky on my legs, and it was extremely sticky on my hands. I couldn't stand it, so I washed it off of my hands. On my legs, the stickiness eventually went away, but it drove me crazy until it did. I'd say it took a good 15 - 20 minutes to go away, and even then, it doesn't go away entirely. However, the next day, my legs were really, really nicely moisturized. And throughout the day, they stayed moisturized. I was very impressed, and that alone was enough for me to suck it up and deal with the stickiness. I haven't yet used this on my face, and I honestly don't think that I will, because I do not like the stickiness. And I know that if I put this on with other products on my face, it will remain sticky.

So let's talk about the pros:
  • Affordable
  • Large quantity
  • You don't need to use much product, so it lasts a long time
  • Multi-purpose (face and body)
  • Nice, mild smell
  • Long lasting moisture
  • Gives skin a nice, healthy glow
Cons:
  • Sticky
  • Like, really sticky.
So as you can see, my only gripe is the stickiness. I still can't get over the feeling on my hands, so I always wash the moisturizer off. But other than that, I don't have any complaints. It's a really nice moisturizer, it's shockingly long lasting, and it's a great value. Give it a try if you have horribly dry skin like I do!
